What is Diabetic Retinopathy?
Diabetic retinopathy is an eye condition caused by damage to the tiny blood vessels in the retina due to high blood sugar levels. Over time, it can lead to vision problems and even blindness if left untreated. Before Your Eye Examination...
- Bring your current glasses.
- Do not wear contact lenses on the day of the examination.
- Pupil dilation (temporary blurring of vision for 4-6 hours)
- You should have someone pick you up and drop you off, and you should not drive yourself after dilating your pupils.
- Bring sunglasses for comfort after dilation.
- Rest your eyes and avoid prolonged screen time before the examination.
- Inform your doctor of any symptoms or vision problems.
